We’re hiring a Photo Expedition Planner and a Sales & Operations Specialist (Travel Agent) to help us create the most exciting photo adventures all over the world.

Both positions are full time and 100% remote.

Expedition Planner

The Expedition Planner designs and plans the photo expeditions down to the very last detail. This involves finding the best locations, planning great photos with PhotoPills, designing the minute to minute itinerary, finding reliable local partners (hotels, transport, fun activities) and choosing the photographers that will lead the expeditions (PhotoPills Masters).

We’re looking for someone that is naturally a great photographer, a great photo trip planner, a great photo trip leader and a great photography instructor, and that has played this role or similar before applying.

You’re creative. The Expedition Planner helps come up with creative ideas to design intense photography and real-life experiences - whether that be planning a super special photo opportunity of the Moon aligned with a power subject, or lining up an opportunity for PhotoPillers to spend a day in a remote Himba village learning about their culture and way of living.

You pay attention to detail. The Expedition Planner also knows that every tiny detail matters, so finds the best expedition leaders and local partners that guarantee transport is never late, accommodations are always comfortable, vehicles always have enough seats, and food is never lacking a vegetarian option.

People are your specialty. Local partners? They love working with you. Other PhotoPills team members? They love working with you. PhotoPillers? They love being around you. The Expedition Planner can effortlessly manage relationships, engage people and turn any problem into a solution.

What you’ll be doing

  • Design and plan photo expeditions: find locations, plan photos, find fun activities and design the itinerary.
  • Find local photographers to help us design the best photography adventures possible.
  • Find and build relationships with reliable local partners (hotels, transport, activities, guides…).
  • Build a team of great expedition leaders (PhotoPills Masters). And coach them on how to be fantastic photography instructors.
  • Help build a team of expedition planners.
  • Help with customer support answering photography related questions.
  • Travel to scout locations if required.
  • Travel to guide an expedition if required.

Qualifications

  • Passion for photography, passion for travel, natural leader/go-getter, well connected.
  • Great photography eye.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Organized, detail oriented, creative, requires little oversight.
  • Present, engaging, enthusiastic, and approachable.
  • Photo tours design/leading experience preferred.
  • Experience using digital tools like Google docs, Slack, Email, and Excel.
  • You demonstrate excellent internet research skills.
  • Used to planning photos with PhotoPills.
  • Used to managing budgets.

Sales & Operations Specialist (Travel Agent)

The Sales & Operations Specialist (Travel Agent) manages sales, customers and bookings with local partners. This involves writing the sales letter for each expedition, managing bookings and cancellations, supporting customers in all they need… and making sure the bookings with our local partners are confirmed so the expeditions are a success.

We’re looking for someone that is naturally a great project manager, a great customer manager and a great copywriter, and that has played this role or similar before applying (travel agent).

You’re creative. The Sales & Operations Specialist helps come up with creative ideas to design the best expedition possible, optimize the sales system and improve the customer management system- whether that be planning a new marketing strategy, finding a way to exceed customers’ expectations or proposing an activity that will be the delight of our customers.

You pay attention to detail, you are customer centric. The Sales & Operation Specialist also knows that every tiny detail matters, so quickly answers every email (customers and local partners), meets deadlines and double checks that all bookings are ready and in place for the expedition to kick off.

The Sales & Operation Specialist can effortlessly manage relationships, engage people and turn any problem into a solution.

What you’ll be doing

  • Write expedition description and sales letter.
  • Manage sales and cancellations.
  • Manage customers and customer support.
  • Manage and book local partners (Hotels, transport, activities…).
  • Fulfill all requests regarding necessary regulations.
  • Help build a team of sales & operations specialists.
  • Help create the best photo expeditions possible.

Qualifications

  • Passion for travel, natural leader.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Organized, detail oriented, creative, requires little oversight.
  • Present, engaging, enthusiastic, and approachable.
  • Travel agent experience or similar preferred.
  • Solid working knowledge of the travel industry, policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Experience using digital tools like Google docs, Slack, Email, and Excel.
  • You demonstrate excellent internet research skills for client information.
  • Used to managing budgets.
