Two PhotoPillers can finally make it this year, so their seats are now available to everyone.

Long story short... Only 2 spot left!

You will take part in a 7-DAY EPIC PHOTO IMMERSION that will help you improve every aspect of your photography

Everything!

From inspiration, planning with PhotoPills, shooting and post-processing to managing your social networks (Instagram and Facebook). And even the way you manage your photography business, if that’s your interest.

And if there’s something more specific that you’d like to learn, please let us know. We’ll do our best to help you!

The Camp is hosted in Menorca, our headquarters in Spain. A small paradise island lost in the midst of the Mediterranean Sea

It’s no coincidence that Menorca is known as the “Island of Light” since long before the Roman Empire. It’s a kind of a mystical place where time goes slow and inspiration flows spontaneously.

Along with Romans, Ottomans and Muslims, many ancient cultures have fought for its treasures. Nowadays, the Island quietly waits to be discovered. Only a few have the privilege to enjoy this nature sanctuary:

The dark sky, ravines, caves, rock formations, wetlands, isles, lighthouses, 1,500+ archeological sites, dune systems, beaches with white sand and crystal clear waters, where a rich population of plants and wildlife thrives, including a few endemic species...

And you’ll be experiencing the island the way we do, the way the islanders do. You’ll feel like a local, not like a tourist

Simply mix Menorca’s gems with some of the best easy going photography masters, a jam-packed into the field and straight to the point class schedule (on creativity, planning, shooting, post-processing, social networks & business), multiple photo escapes to our secret locations, the delicious Menorcan cuisine, amazing beaches, hikes, horse riding and boat trips, night picnics, coffee talks, party moments and catching up with old and new friends, and finally add the distinctive PhotoPills fun flavour... and you get the perfect cocktail.

Your days will be full of learning, adventure, aha moments and meaningful connections!

Welcome to the PhotoPills Camp

40 PhotoPillers | 10 Instructors | 1 Island | 7 Fun-filled days of Learning and Adventure

The PhotoPills Camp is a celebration of photography. And the particular way we PhotoPillers live this passion:

Side by side, connecting with each other, learning from each other, always positive, always at the right place, at the right time to shoot the scenes we’ve imagined, to tell the stories we wanna tell. Always hunting all those legendary moments that nature serves everyday but nobody sees. Our goosebumps moments!

So, take the best parts of summer camp as a kid and add a powerfully supportive Tribe cheering you on as you...

  • Get inspired by the same natural positive energy that has inspired so many artists, photographers and entrepreneurs before.
  • Shoot multiple photo opportunities in Menorca’s best locations during the best light and under the dark sky: lighthouses, seascapes, rock formations, wild beaches, farms, megalithic monuments, wine cellars, natural arches, forests, ancient quarries…
  • Improve any aspect of your photography the fun way. You’ll be taking short and straight to the point learning pills, not in a classroom but in the field while shooting.
  • Learn face to face with the best easy going Masters completely immersed in nature, on the beach, under the trees, on a boat or riding along the magnificent Camí de Cavalls, an ancient coastal trail for horses that encircles the island.
  • Create meaningful connections. You’ll have the opportunity to connect with people from all around the world.
  • Devour healthy food and some of the best Menorca’s traditional cuisine, including its famous lobster.
  • Turn into a PhotoPills Master. You’ll gain the power to look into the future to find the right shooting spot and shooting time the scenes you imagine happen.
  • Post-process your images in the field, right after the shooting. And also comfortably sitting in a beautiful Café the following morning, just after a delicious breakfast.
  • Master the art of social networks, so you consistently grow your own tribe of fans on Instagram and Facebook.
  • And if you wish to make a living out of photography, you’ll be right there among people that are already living the dream, and that are ready to share all the secrets with you!

By the end of this experience, your connection with the island will be so deep, you won't remember how you got to the island nor when. You’ll start feeling a bit Menorcan.

This is the PhotoPills Camp, the PhotoPillers’ hideout from this hectic world.

The PhotoPills Camp begins with your arrival to Menorca Airport where you’ll board the FlyBus to the Artiem Audax Hotel, located in the beautiful beach of Cala Galdana, our headquarters during the Camp!

Once there, we’ll be super happy to welcome you. Can’t wait to give you the PhotoPills Camp Welcome Kit :)

Flying to Menorca is easiest from Barcelona (40min flight), with Madrid the second best option (1h 15min) and Mallorca (15min), the third one. Check the following airlines: iberia.com, vueling.com, ryanair.com.

You can also fly to Menorca from major European cities like London or Paris (2h flight).

Please, book your flights to Menorca as soon as possible, the island is very popular.

If you’re flying on May 27 or before, please, let us know and we’ll help you with your hotel bookings. In this case, you’ll also get the FlyBus transfer to your hotel.

2pm

Check-in starts at 2pm. In case you arrive earlier, your luggage will be kept safe in a storage room.

It’s time to start exploring the Camp: the beach, the swimming pool or the Blue Café & Lounge.

Sure, you’ll meet other PhotoPillers and the Masters. Mark Gee, Elia Locardi and the other PhotoPills Masters will be already there. Everyone but José B. Ruiz, who will join us on Tuesday, May 30.

Make sure to check-in before 4-6pm. You don’t want to miss what’s going to happen next!

4pm

There is no better way to restore energy after a long trip than relaxing in the Blue Spa. The Camp includes a 90 minutes Thermal Circuit. So, why not enjoying it just after checking-in?

8pm

We’ll meet at the Blue Café at the Artiem Audax and we’ll take a 5 min walk to the beach. There, right after the welcome talk and presentations, we’ll have a tasty traditional Menorcan picnic-dinner called “Sa Bereneta”.

8:24pm

The golden hour begins. So, it’s a good idea to bring your camera and tripod. We’ll be enjoying the natural light and the sea colors until the blue hour ends at 9:36pm. Sunset is at 9:04pm.

10pm

The adventure begins. Macarella and Macarelleta, two of the most beautiful wild beaches in the Mediterranean (and the world) are just at a 30min walk.

We’ll follow the beautiful Camí de Cavalls, an ancient coastal trail for horses that encircles the island. Get ready to take your headlamps and enjoy a bit of fresh air and exercise.

If you wish to process your images on the field, don’t forget to also bring your laptop with you.

11pm

You’ll find yourself sitting under the stars, on the soft white sand. The astronomical twilight ends at 11:01pm. It’s time to get inspired!

The opening inspiration talk begins. Mark Gee, Elia Locardi, Naomi Locardi, Mario Rubio, Francesco Gola, Donal Boyd and the whole PhotoPills team are just there with you, sharing their thoughts on how they get inspired and where they find inspiration. It feels like being immersed in a conversation among old friends.

Are you tired?

We understand it’s the first day, and some of you might be exhausted. So, around midnight, when the inspiration talk ends, we’ll guide you back to the hotel.

But if not...

12am

Time to shoot!

The Camp is all about you taking great pictures, while you learn and have lots of fun!

We’ve designed 4 nice shots for the first night (surprise, surprise!) and we want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to take them.

So, the shooting session has been planned as a fun game with 4 shooting spots. At each shooting spot there’ll be at least 2 Masters helping you with the shot. You’ll be split in 3-4 groups. And each group will go through all the shooting spots.

2am

Time to go to bed! We’ll pack everything and we’ll start our journey back to the hotel, where a comfortable bed awaits.

List of photos
  • Golden hour and blue hour in Cala Galdana: picnic scenes and long exposures with filters.
  • Night sky in Macarella and Macarelleta: Milky Way, star trails, night portrait, light painting and bokeh of the stars.
Learning pills
  • Imagine: How Masters find inspiration. The secrets behind composing a good Milky Way and star trails shot.
  • Plan: How to use PhotoPills to plan your Milky Way and star trails shots. And how to make the calculations for the shooting: the hyperfocal distance, the exposure time for a Milky Way and a star trails shot, the number of shots and total memory usage for a star trails shot (stacking).
  • Shoot: How to focus at the hyperfocal distance, use an intervalometer, add light in the foreground, shoot the Milky Way, star trails, night portraits and create nice bokeh with the stars.
  • Process: Right after the shooting you’ll check sharpness, noise and exposure. Understanding the histogram and how to expose based on how you’ll process the image. How to process a Milky Way shot fast.

  • Business: In the morning, while you get your learning pills or during the shooting. There’ll be many opportunities to find ways to help you with your business.

Day 2,  Monday May 29 -  Wine, Music and Stars

5am

Optional sunrise shot for the brave ones. At 6:17am, there is a beautiful sunrise happening in Favàritx lighthouse (39,9924ºN 4,2551ºE). Who is in?

8am

Breakfast! From 7:30 to 10am, a delicious breakfast is served at the Oliva restaurant: fresh orange juice, fruit, coffee and a large variety of healthy food to choose from.

10am

Every day, many things will be happening from 10am to 1:30pm at the Camp.

It’s when you’ll have fun processing photos with Masters, joining one of the learning pills conversations (on inspiration, composition, planning, shooting, social networks or business), chilling around the camp or simply taking a few more hours of well deserved sleep.

Our goal is to release a close-to-final schedule of activities one month before the Camp.

1:30pm

The lunch at the Artiem Audax is a different story every day. Only one thing is granted: abundant high quality healthy food. Well, there’ll be things that are not that healthy too :P

3pm

Siesta time! You’re in Spain, remember?

4pm

Bus to one of the greatest wine cellars on the island. You’ll spend a couple of hours taking pictures as you discover the art of wine crafting (and also tasting the wine, of course!)

7pm

Bus to Favàritx, probably one of the most amazing locations in Menorca. It feels like being on the Moon in this place. We love shooting the Milky Way here!

With a height of 33m, the construction of the Favàritx lighthouse was necessary after three shipwrecks: the "Ville de Rome" in 1898, the "Isaac Perey" in 1906, and the "General Chanzy" in 1910.

Its construction began in July 1917, but several problems such as the lack of funds and the claims from the former land owner delayed the works until September 22, 1922, when it was finally inaugurated.

8:23pm

Golden hour begins! From the very first moment you get off the bus at 7:30pm, till the end of the blue hour at 9:36pm, you’ll have the opportunity to shoot many nice scenes including the sunset at 9:04pm.

In all the shooting escapes, the “modus operandis” will be the same. Together with the Masters, we’ve imagined and planned many awesome shots in each one of the locations.

It’s a challenge. We want you to experiment with all sorts of situations and techniques. With the support of the Masters and the other PhotoPillers, you’ll be turning ideas into real photos… all sort of ideas (some of them pretty crazy and creative)!

After the shooting, you’ll have time to start processing the images.

10pm

We’ll sit under the stars and enjoy the picnic the chef at the Artiem Audax will have prepared specially for us. And why not asking Joan Pons, the designer of Photopills (a.k.a. The Rock Star), to play one of his songs with his guitar.

11:01pm

The astronomical twilight ends. It’s nighttime. And the galactic center has started to be visible in the south-east. The night shooting is about to begin.

You’ll be split in groups and enjoy shooting different photos opportunities including a panorama of the Milky Way arching above the Favàritx lighthouse.

2am

Bus back to the Camp. Time to go to bed.

List of photos
  • At the wine cellar: architecture, portrait, Brenizer and still life.
  • Golden hour and blue hour in Favàritx: Sunset, long exposure with filters, portrait, textures, patterns and macro.
  • Night sky in Favàrtix: Milky Way, panorama, light painting, night portrait, bokeh, star trails and timelapse.
Learning pills
  • Imagine: How to find and compose multiple photo opportunities in the field.
  • Plan: How to use PhotoPills to plan natural light, Sunset, Milky Way and star trails. And how to make all the calculations for the shooting: depth of field, field of view, exposure with filters, exposure time for Milky Way and star trails, timelapse settings...
  • Shoot: How to shoot architecture, portrait, still life, patterns, textures, Brenizer, long exposures with filters, sunset, panorama, Milky Way, star trails, night portraits, macro, timelapse and bokeh.
  • Process: right after the shooting you’ll check sharpness, noise and exposure. Understanding the histogram and how to expose based on how you’ll process the image. You’ll start processing the shots you’ve taken.
  • Share: How to manage your Instagram and Facebook account to grow your followers and engagement.
  • Business: How shooting outdoor portraits or products for free can help you make money.

Day 3,  Tuesday May 30 - Discovering the Rural Menorca

5am

Optional sunrise shot for the brave ones. This one is a real challenge. You’ll take the bus to Cala’n Blanes (west coast). And from there, you’ll have to trek 1 mile (1.6km) against the Sun!

This means that you’ll have to reach the top of a hill called Sa Falconera (40.0194ºN 3.7984ºE) before sunrise at 6:19am. You will be well rewarded for your efforts with a spectacular sunrise vista.

On the way back, you’ll have the opportunity to shoot our favorite natural bridge: es Pont d’En Gil (40.0108ºN, 3.7943ºE).

8am

Breakfast is served from 7:30 to 10am at the Oliva restaurant.

10am

Morning activities: processing photos with Masters, join one of the learning pills conversations (on inspiration, composition, planning, shooting, social networks or business), chill around the camp or simply take a few more hours of well-deserved sleep.

A close-to-final schedule will be released one month before the Camp.

1:30 pm

Lunch time at  the Artiem Audax.

3pm

Siesta time!

4pm

Bus to the beautiful farm of Son Mercer de Baix.

Situated 10 km from the Camp, the land of Son Mercer de Baix is owned by the Mascaró family who, since 1918, are dedicated to the design and production of shoes, internationally recognised by their trademarks Mascaró, Úrsula Mascaró and Pretty Ballerinas.

The settlement of Son Mercer de Baix is the main archaeological site of pre-talayot Menorca, formed by diverse habitable navetas or naviforms. Although very small, the settlement is really spectacular, not just for the views of the nearby river ravines, but also for the presence of the most spectacular navetiforme in the Balearics: the Sa Cova des Moro, declared an artistic monument in 1931.

The cows pasture most of the year on the estate in Son Mercer de Baix. This translates into less milk production per animal although better quality for the cheese, also the animals are healthier and live longer.

The Artisanal Menorca cheese manufacturing process follows very old practices transmitted from father to child, which is still carried out today. And in Son Mercer de Baix the cheese is manufactured with milk recently milked all year round.

We’ll enjoy a couple of hours shooting among cows, pigs, cheese, the ravine and a few unique archeological sites.

7pm

Bus to Líthica, S’Hostal Quarries.

S’Hostal is an area of sandstone quarries located on the west side of the island of Menorca. The quarries fell into disuse in 1994. And that same year, the association Líthica rented out this site in order to save it from being filled up with rubble and disappearing into oblivion.

The quarries’ main characteristic is their constant contrast and duality. Inside them, you’ll see a very large area with cubic geometry that is the result of mechanical stone extraction. This area is juxtaposed with the nearby old quarries where the stone was extracted by hand.

Líthica’s aim is to rescue these quarries by giving them a new life while preserving their essence as a labyrinth and a garden.

8:26pm

Golden hour begins! Until the blue hour ends at 9:39pm, you’ll have the opportunity to capture many great shots in the quarries including portraits with models, the gardens and the spectacular stone shapes.

As usual, you’ll be split in 3-4 groups and, with the support of the Masters and the other PhotoPillers, you’ll turn ideas into real photos.

Right after the shooting, you’ll have time to post process the images.

10pm

We’ll have a nice night picnic while enjoying a big surprise we’ve organised specially for you. Top Secret!

11:06pm

The astronomical twilight ends. Time to enjoy shooting the night sky and the quarries in multiple different ways.

Once again, you’ll be split in groups and shoot different photo opportunities including beautiful night portraits, light painting and star trails.

2am

Bus back to the Camp. Time to go to bed.

List of photos
  • At Son Mercer de Baix: rural life, farm animals, cheese cellar, wild flora, the ravine (drone) and pre-talayotic monuments.
  • Golden hour and blue hour in S’Hostal Quarries: portrait with flash, textures, patterns, macro, black and white.
  • Night sky in S’Hostal Quarries: stone shapes, light painting, night portrait, bokeh, and star trails.
Learning pills
  • Imagine: The secrets of an award winning image revealed by an International Jury.
  • Plan: How to use PhotoPills to plan natural light and star trails. And how to make all the calculations for the shooting: depth of field, field of view, exposure with filters, exposure time for a given star trails length and total card memory usage when you shoot a multiple short exposure star trails (stacking).
  • Shoot: How to shoot with a drone, architecture, portrait with flash, rural life, ethnology, still life, Brenizer, macro, textures, patterns, star trails, night portraits, light painting and bokeh.
  • Process: Right after the shooting you’ll check sharpness, noise and exposure. Understanding the histogram and how to expose based on how you’ll process the image. You’ll start processing the shots you’ve taken.
  • Share: How to create a viral video – Mark Gee’s story.
  • Business: How to attract premium clients using Facebook ads.

Day 4,  Wednesday May 31 - The Horse Quest

8am

Breakfast is served from 7:30 to 10am at the Oliva restaurant.

10am

Morning activities: processing photos with Masters, join one of the learning pills conversations (on inspiration, composition, planning, shooting, social networks or business), chill around the camp or simply take a few more hours of good sleep.

A close-to-final schedule will be released one month before the Camp.

1:30 pm

Lunch time at  the Artiem Audax.

3pm

Siesta time!

4pm

Bus to the beautiful farm of Son Àngel, where the horse quest awaits.

Located on the north coast, Son Àngel has about 300 hectares of farmland, forest and coastline. The farm is surrounded by beautiful landscapes of great ecological and cultural value.

Once we get there, we’ll take the camera, jump on a horse and follow Toni and Luis, our hosts, in a beautiful ride through a pine and holm oak forest.

On the coastline, we’ll take the Camí de Cavalls and stop for a few great shooting opportunities before we reach our next photo destination: Cala Algaiarens.

7pm

Also known as La Vall, Cala Algaiarens is a large wide cove split into two golden sand and crystal water beaches known as Platja des Bot, on the eastern side, and Platja des Tancats, on the western side.

The two beaches and surrounding dune systems, forests and farm lands have been designated as a Special Protection Area (SPA) under the European Union Directive on the Conservation of Wild Birds.

The whole natural system provides a unique opportunity to shoot the Menorcan horse, a spectacular and beautiful breed renowned for its glorious black coat and jumping capabilities. It is the undisputed star during the summer festivals on the island.

8:26pm

Golden hour begins! Time to photograph the beautiful Menorcan horse among a jam of blue and golden tones… and, of course, the Sun setting in the Mediterranean sea (at 9:07pm).

Have your filters ready for action. You’re going to need them too… and why not trying to do some infrared photography too?

Again, you’ll be split in groups and, with the support of the Masters and the other PhotoPillers, you’ll be turning ideas into real photos. And there are a lot of photos to be taken here.

Right after the shooting, you’ll have time to post process the images.

10pm

Picnic time! You’ll have to choose between having you dinner sitting on the soft white sand or under an old Holm oak. What a difficult decision!

Jokes, fairy tales and songs are allowed!

11:06pm

The astronomical twilight ends and the Galactic Center begins to be visible in the south-east.

Again, you’ll be split in 3-4 groups and shoot different photos opportunities including night portraits, light painting, Milky Way and star trails.

2am

At 2 am in the morning you’ll have to make another tough choice.

On one side, you’ll have the bus, ready to take you back to the Camp, where a restoring hot shower and a comfortable bed are impatiently waiting for you.

On the other side, you’ll stay to trek for 40 minutes to Sa Punta Rotja. Once there, you can keep shooting or take a nap under the stars while waiting for the Sunrise that will take place at 6:17am.

Your call!

List of photos
  • At Son Àngel: rural life, farm animals and Menorcan horse.
  • During the horse quest: forest, cliffs, seascapes and macro.

Day 5,  Thursday June 1 - Mike Oldfield’s Inspiration Wonders

1:30pm

Lunch time at  the Artiem Audax.

3pm

Siesta time!

4pm

Bus to the Cavalleria lighthouse, the oldest one in Menorca (1857).

Located in Cap de Cavalleria, this lighthouse stands 94m above the sea level, right on the tallest and most impressive cliffs of the north coast of the island.

Cap de Cavalleria is rocky, wild and with little vegetation as a result of the strong Tramontana wind that erodes this place winter after winter.

It’s also home to the old Roman settlement of Sanitja, the port of the city of Sanisera. There is a defense tower built during the second English occupation (1798-1802) at the entrance of this natural little port.

From 5 to 7pm the light won’t be great, reducing the photography possibilities to seascape, macro and portrait. We’ll spend a couple of hours shooting and exploring the lighthouse and its surroundings.

7pm

We’ll take the bus to Binimel·la and then we’ll walk 30min through a breathtaking landscape to Cala Pregonda.

Pregonda is famous for having appeared twice as the cover image of Mike Oldfield’s album Incantations (photos by Carlos Moyse and Sús Camps).

It’s a long beach, flanked by dunes and green fields, with reddish gold sand and pink rocks – creating the effect of a Martian landscape.

A few tiny islands just off shore protect the bay from the northerly winds, so the sea is usually millpond-still and crystalline.

8:26pm

Golden hour begins!

And you’ll be in one of the most powerful and colorful locations on the island.

The photo opportunities here are huge: seascape, long exposures, panoramas, night shots, timelapse and… why not shooting original scenes with a bride and a groom or a nude or even Cosplay (Japanese anime costumes)?!

Again, you’ll be split in 3-4 groups and, with the support of the Masters and the other PhotoPillers, you’ll be turning ideas into real photos. And there are a lot of photos to be taken here.

Right after the shooting, you’ll have time to post process the images.

10pm

Picnic time!

11:06pm

The astronomical twilight ends and the Milky Way will start arching above the landscape. It’s a perfect time to take positions for an awesome panorama.

Once again, you’ll be split in 3-4 groups and shoot many different photos opportunities.

2am

Bus back to the Camp.

List of photos
  • At Cavalleria lighthouse: seascapes, macro and portrait.
  • Golden hour and blue hour in Cala Pregonda: portrait, long exposure with filters, seascapes, patterns and macro.
  • Night sky in Cala Pregonda: seascape, panorama, Milky Way, star trails, light painting, night portrait and timelapse.
Learning pills
  • Imagine: How to train yourself to be more creative (yes, it’s possible to train creativity).
  • Plan: How to use PhotoPills to plan natural light, Milky Way and star trails. And how to make all the calculations for the shooting: depth of field, field of view, exposure with filters, exposure time for Milky Way and star trails, timelapse settings, star trails simulations.
  • Shoot: How to shoot portrait, seascapes, macro, panorama, long exposure with filters, Milky Way, star trails, night portraits, textures and patterns, light painting and timelapse.
  • Process: Right after the shooting you’ll check sharpness, noise and exposure. Understanding the histogram and how to expose based on how you’ll process the image. You’ll start processing the shots you’ve taken.

  • Business: How to quit your job, travel the world and get paid for it.

Day 6, Friday June 2 - The King’s Island and The Talayotic Menorca

8am

Breakfast is served from 7:30 to 10am at the Oliva restaurant.

10am

Morning activities: processing photos with Masters, join one of the learning pills conversations (on inspiration, composition, planning, shooting, social networks or business), chill around the camp or simply take a few more hours of well deserved sleep.

A close-to-final schedule will be released one month before the Camp.

1:30 pm

Lunch time at the Artiem Audax.

3pm

Siesta time!

4pm

We’ll take the bus to Maó (east coast), where a boat will take us to the “Illa del Rei”: King’s Island.

“Rabbit Island”, “Bloody Island”, “Hospital Island”... this small island has been known by many names over the centuries.

It became known as the King’s Island after Alfonso III of Aragón disembarked there on January 5, 1287, and established his base on the island to reconquest Menorca from the Muslim occupiers.

In the early 18th Century, under the first British occupation, Sir John Jennings, the Royal Navy Admiral, ordered to build a naval hospital on the island. It was Britain’s first ever overseas military hospital.

Nowadays, the association “Friends of the King’s Island” is responsible for restoring and maintaining all the treasures hidden within. And they are happy to welcome us.

On the island, after a short tour conducted by our hosts, you’ll be split in 3-4 groups. The shots you’ll take on the island will be very different from the ones taken until that moment in the Camp.

We can’t wait to see your faces when you realize what’s going on! :P

7pm

We’ll take the boat back to Maó, then a bus to Talatí de Dalt – a remarkable archaeological site dated around 1,300 BC.

The talayotic settlement of Talatí de Dalt is composed by two natural caves, the central talayot, the sanctuary with the taula and several rooms with columns and flagstones at the top.

If you take a deeper outlook, you’ll discover another two talayots. These are both situated in the defense wall.

Talatí was a medium size village, with a population of about a hundred people, at its best times, during the 3rd century AD.

8:26pm

When the golden hour begins, you’ll be right in front of a well-preserved rare Talayotic monument.

Its spiritual enclosure is remarkable for the column that leans against the horizontal stoned of the taula, which sets it apart from all other taules on the island.

As usual, you’ll be split in 3-4 groups and, with the support of the Masters and the other PhotoPillers, you’ll be turning ideas into real photos.

Right after the shooting, you’ll have time to post process the images.

10pm

This is the last night picnic you’ll have on the island.

11:06pm

At the end of the astronomical twilight, the strong light pollution will surround the talayots. It makes a great opportunity to learn how to use light pollution at your advantage.

And also, to connect the stars with this ancient stone constructions by shooting a hypnotic star trails.

Again, you’ll be split in 3-4 groups and shoot different photos opportunities including beautiful night portraits and light painting.

12am

Bus back to the Camp. Time to go to bed. Tomorrow is going to be the last big day. Probably the biggest one!

Day 7,  Saturday June 3 - The Secret

If you think you’ve seen it all, think twice!

June 3rd is going to be one of those days you’ll remember for the rest of your life.

Curious?

It’s a secret, a big surprise.

You’ll have to be there with us. You’ll have to wait! :P

Day 8,  Sunday June 4 - The Farewell

9am

You open your eyes...

A soft beam of light is pleasantly heating your skin.

Where am I?

“Don’t worry, you’re safe.”

You’re still lying on the bed in one of the comfortable rooms of the Artiem Audax. The bed next to yours is empty and messy. Michael, your room mate, is already gone.

What a strange feeling...

Everything seems like a dream now, blurry in your mind.

The day you arrived at this little island seems so far away now. So far away in time that you can hardly remember how you got here nor when.

Clumsily, you walk to the window, you want to enjoy the beautiful view of Cala Galdana one last time.

Slowly, you pull off the curtains as you start feeling a bit Menorcan.

12pm

It’s time to say “Farewell”!

After enjoying your last breakfast at the Camp, when you feel ready to hit the road again, you’ll get a transfer to the airport for departure… Unless, of course, you’ve decided you don’t want to leave, which wouldn’t be surprising at all.

Your squad of easy going Masters

Insert your image here

Whether you are looking to master PhotoPills once and for all, get some advice on your shooting and post-processing workflow, or learn a new skill like shooting the Milky Way, Star trails, Meteor Showers, Moon, Sunrises & Sunsets, Long Exposure with Filters, Timelapse, Panoramas, Wildlife, Portrait or Macro... or how to fly a Drone!

Or maybe you want to learn how to consistently grow your followers and engagement on Instagram and Facebook. Or even learn how to make a living doing what you love most: photography.

In any case, we’ve assembled a team of Masters unlike anything before.

Their lives are driven by their passion for photography and helping others.

Here’s your squad of Masters!

Mark Gee (Astrophotography, Timelapse and Moon)

Mark Gee is an award winning photographer (Astronomy Photographer of the Year), time-lapse filmmaker, TEDx speaker and a PhotoPills Master. A true genius when it comes to telling stories with the Moon and the Milky Way.

Stop, Look up & Enjoy… His battle cry for the starry nights!

Elia Locardi (Travel, Landscape, Astrophotography and Drone)

Location independent since March of 2012, Elia Locardi and his wife Naomi live a 100% mobile lifestyle, perpetually traveling from country to country, continuously circling the globe.

In this adventure, Elia has become an internationally acclaimed professional travel photographer, videographer, writer, public speaker, and highly skilled educator who spends his life shooting and teaching in some of the most beautiful locations in the world... Next stop: Menorca!

Naomi Locardi (Artist, writer, entrepreneur, travel)

Naomi Locardi is an artist, writer, entrepreneur and photographer currently exploring the globe on a location independent adventure with her husband Elia.

The proverb says that behind every great man there is a great woman. But when it comes to Naomi and Elia, nothing could be further from the truth. When you see them together, you realize they’re just one.

If you wish to make her happy, give her a hat. Hats are her Achilles heel.

José Benito Ruiz (Nature, Wildlife, Landscape, Macro and Portrait)

He’s like a father to us. Simply the most renowned Spanish nature photographer of all time! José Benito has won (and also participated as jury) several international competitions like Wildlife Photographer of the Year or the Golden Turtle. His photos have been published in more than 40 countries through the most prestigious agents (Planet Earth Pictures, Oxford Scientific Films and Nature Picture Library) in pro for the preservation of Nature.

Devoted naturalist and author of more than 10 books on photography and wildlife, when José is not writing or out there shooting, he is teaching others the art of photography. A good friend, a guide and the first PhotoPills Master (do you remember José?!)... We’re so honored to have him on board!

Mario Rubio (Lightpainting, Astrophotography)

The fun-leader of the astrophotographers and light painters in Spain and South America. Mario Rubio is a devoted teacher (and a fantastic guy to hang out with, he is a bit crazy though). By helping people improve their photography, Mario has built a huge following of fans (aka the Noctógrafos) that’s spreading all over the world. Get ready to master the art of telling colorful nightstories through light.

Ah! And if you’re a runner, well, he can also teach you how to run a Marathon in less than 3h 26’ :P

Francesco Gola (Seascapes and Long Exposure)

To talk about pastel-soaked pictures of silky seas and soft clouds is to talk about Francesco Gola. At the beginning, he found in photography the perfect escape to the chaotic world. But, very soon, his skills with the ND and GND filters turned him into an outstanding Seascape photographer.

Warning! Mixing Francesco with Menorca’s unique seascapes may blast your creativity!

Donal Boyd (Travel, Landscape, Moon and Drone)

If you’re looking for a PhotoPills Master in Iceland, Donal Boyd is your man. He decided to follow his heart, quitted his job and moved to Iceland to operate his business as a professional photographer and photography instructor. A guy to follow if you want to learn how to make a living out of photography starting from scratch (and on a budget).

Ah! And he has a drone too! :P

All of them are true PhotoPillers like you and me. But above all, they’re joining us because they share the same vision and passion that drive us:

To help you guys leave your mark on the world, and create a legacy of extremely beautiful images, unique life experiences and achievements, while learning and improving every aspect of your photography

Like Antoni, Germán, Joan or myself (the PhotoPills Team), these guys do not keep wisdom for themselves, they’re happy to share all their secrets with you!

And they’re going to be there, next to you. So be ready to connect with them, ask them and absorb as much wisdom as you can. Not only during the lectures and the shooting escapes, but also while relaxing on the beach (under the pine trees), or while enjoying a cup of coffee at the bar (or a well deserved beer).

Do you want an example of how huge this will be?

This is what we did in Iceland with 10 fantastic PhotoPillers. Imagine what we can do at home, in our headquarters. With many more Masters and, above all, many more PhotoPillers like you!

But you don’t have to take our word for it. Here’s what PhotoPillers have to say about us:

“I went to Iceland expecting to have the opportunity to photograph the marvelous landscape and master nightscapes. What I encountered was so much more – 14 kindred souls from across the globe who share a passion for photography. Together we expanded our creative boundaries, learned from one another and had an insane amount of fun in the process. I am confident that everyone came away from the experience a better photographer.” - Warren Hatch, USA

“From the very moment the guys from PhotoPills announced the expedition to Iceland... I didn’t think it twice! I was using PhotoPills but not at its full capacity, so I had no better chance to learn from the creators of this amazing app. The experience was even more amazing than anything I could have imagined. In Iceland, I discovered a bunch of folks as crazy about photography as I am. I had a blast!

Photography is a continuous learning process, you always find something new that motivates you to improve. And this adventure made me improve more than I could imagine.” - Leonardo Villa, Colombia

“During my experience in Iceland I lived wonderful moments and had surprises that were beyond the expected. It completely exceeded my initial expectations! Sharing knowledge, experiences and ways of working and living photography with such a great group has been one of the most enriching life experiences I have ever had.

Who he said that learning and knowledge sharing can not be wonderfully fun?” - Carlos F. Vásquez, Colombia

"The PhotoPills guys know how to create a fantastic experience. They bring an infectiously fun energy and are always willing to drop some handy photography knowledge on you that you will take with you. You take their trip and you'll for sure have a good time, get some amazing pics and leave a better photographer." - Patrick Rory , Canada

“I can't say enough about what a fantastic time I had during the PhotoPills Iceland photo tour! The guys from PhotoPills and Donal Boyd were so knowledgeable, accommodating, and especially lots of fun. Never a dull moment – nonstop action and shooting of amazing landscapes for 10 days. I came away with enough images and memories to last a lifetime!” Jana Kalous, Canada
